Volunteer on your own or as part of a group. Both are welcome, and no racing experience is required.

Everyone Is Welcome

You do not need to belong to a group to volunteer. Individuals may register and serve independently. If you are volunteering with a school, club, team, nonprofit, workplace, or community organization, register individually and enter your group’s name so everyone can be counted together.

How It Works

Three Simple Steps

Register as an individual volunteer or identify the group you are representing during registration.

    Register Online
    Every volunteer must complete their own registration through the official volunteer portal.
  2. 2
    Individual or Group
    Volunteering alone? No group is required. Volunteering with an organization? Enter the same group name as the other members.
  3. 3
    Complete Your Shift
    Arrive on time, complete the full assigned shift, and check in and out with the volunteer coordinator. Instructions are sent during race week.

Group Thank-You Donations

This program is only for qualifying volunteer groups. Individual volunteers are equally welcome and do not need to participate through a group.

Donation Guidelines

This is a thank-you donation to the participating organization. It is not employment, hourly pay, wages, or direct compensation to individual volunteers.

  • Minimum
    The group must complete at least six verified volunteer shifts to qualify for a thank-you donation.
  • Calculation
    The group’s thank-you donation is calculated at $15 for each completed and verified shift after the six-shift minimum is reached. This is not an hourly rate.
  • Example
    Twelve completed and verified shifts would result in a $180 thank-you donation to the group.
  • Payment
    The donation check is mailed to the qualifying organization approximately four to six weeks after shifts are verified.
  • Requirements
    Volunteers must arrive on time, complete the full assigned shift, and check in and out. Incomplete or unverified shifts are not included in the donation calculation.
This is not hourly compensation. The amount is a thank-you donation made to an eligible group or organization. Completed shifts are simply used to calculate the donation amount.
Group registration: Every group member must register individually and enter the same group name so completed shifts can be credited to the correct organization.
