About the 6th Annual Houston Methodist Texas City Tri, Du, & Aquabike.
The Houston Methodist Texas City Triathlon, Duathlon and Aquabike is a large, well organized standalone sprint event created for athletes of all levels. The course begins with an inviting 500 meter swim in the sandy bottom waters off the Texas City Dike, continues with a fast and flat 15 mile bike ride, and finishes with a scenic 3.1 mile run through Bay Street Park. The bike course is almost entirely closed to traffic, apart from a couple of miles on low speed roads with minimal traffic, giving athletes the freedom to settle into their ride and enjoy the experience. Much of the race unfolds along the Texas City Dike, a truly distinctive coastal setting with expansive views across Galveston Bay. First time triathletes will find an approachable course and plenty of guidance, while experienced athletes can enjoy a smooth, competitive race. With dedicated volunteers, strong course support and options for individuals, relay teams, para athletes and those choosing the duathlon or aquabike, the event delivers a polished race experience with a genuine community feel.
